Tomás Bermúdez is the Mexico Country Representative for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). He is responsible for managing the Bank’s sovereign and non-sovereign portfolio in the country as well as IDB’s technical assistance initiatives. Previously, he served as the IDB’s Representative in Trinidad and Tobago, and in Panama. Prior to that, he served as head of Equity Investments of the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC, now IDB Invest), part of the IDB Group, and as manager of the IIC-China Equity Fund. Before joining the IDB, Mr. Bermudez was Vice-President of Debt Capital Markets for BBVA Securities in New York in charge of fixed income and syndicated loan transactions in Latin America. He holds a BA and an MBA from American University in Washington DC.
