She is the first woman of the Dominican Liberation Party to hold the position of Vice President of the Dominican Republic. She has been reelected for a second constitutional mandate in that position, for her performance and commitment to social policies.
She has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and ratified in July 2012, in addition to the Continental Ambassador for the Elimination of Rubella in the American Continent, Global Ambassador of the Special Olympics, and member of the Panel of International Eminent Persons of UNCTAD.

Thanks to this initiative she has created 100 the Community Technological Centers, it has installed 43 Centers of Training and Production Progressing with Solidarity, favored alliances with more than 1,400 centers of training in all the country and has pushed the access of more than a million people to the Internet. She implemented the Estudiando Progreso School Bonus, trained grantee owners for consumer protection and financial education, and promotes the Dominican model of social protection in the Americas and in other latitudes.
