At Senseable City Lab at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Erin Baumgartner guides the Lab's research agenda and directs industrial and non-profit partnerships. This includes research collaborations with companies such as Audi and Uber and non-profit collaborations with cities around the world. Senseable is a multidisciplinary research group that studies the interface between cities, people, and technologies, and Baumgartner´s focus is on the crucial step of implementation, spanning the urban, organizational, and individual scales. Erin has presented the lab's work widely both domestically and internationally and is keen to explore global partnerships. Prior to joining Senseable City Lab, Erin was the Managing Director of the MISTI (MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives) in France, Switzerland and Belgium. She holds an MA from New York University and has spent many years living and working in France.
