Alejandra Lagunes Soto Ruiz is Coordinator of Mexican Government’s National Digital Strategy. This initiative, which views information as a transformative and democratizing force, promotes development through the optimal use of information and communication technologies, placing them at the service of citizens and government institutions. Alejandra is responsible for the design, coordination, and evaluation of high-impact projects, such as the Telecommunications Reform approved in 2014, projects on gob.mx projects - the one-stop platform of the Federal Government - and the Open Data Policy, one of the most important contributions to the country's transparency efforts.Alejandra Lagunes has a degree in Communication, and has more than 20 years in ICT, making her a pioneer in the sector in Mexico. Before entering public service, Alejandra worked for Google, Yahoo, MSN and Televisa.
