Daniel Carchidi is currently Director of Special Projects and Program Manager within MIT's Office of Digital Learning where he leads the overall development effort for MITx and manages the MITx Fellows Program.
Previously, he led the Instructional Development Center at the University of New Hampshire where he was responsible for promoting and supporting the campus-wide use of instructional technology for online and face-to-face courses. He was also an Affiliate Assistant Professor in the UNH Department of Education. Carchidi has served as the Publication Director at MIT OpenCourseWare where he was responsible for the overall budget, schedule, quality, and team management of the OpenCourseWare publication, which included over 2000 courses from MIT’s 33 academic departments as well as MIT's Highlights for High School web site. He has held management positions at GE Corporate and GE Capital, where he developed knowledge systems and other e-learning applications. A former infantry officer with the US Army’s 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), he served as a company executive officer for a multinational peacekeeping mission in the Sinai Peninsula.
He holds a PhD from the University of Michigan Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education.
