Kheston Walkins is the co-founder and creative director of Raiora Data Services, which Communicare operates under, in Trinidad and Tobago. His background is in Neuroscience and Bioinformatics. His company has produced interactive projects for Schlumberger, Nestlé and other local organizations. He was recently selected as the one of 24 entrepreneurs from Latin America and The Caribbean for the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative, a group formed under the directive of President Barack Obama. In addition to his business pursuits, Mr. Walkins is currently doing his PhD in Molecular Genetics, with an emphasis in Bioinformatics, at the University of the West Indies inTrinidad and Tobago, where he is currently researching data-driven cancer diagnoses. Kheston believes that although we have gotten great at keeping people alive, we still have a lot to do in order to increase their quality of life. This is why he created Communicare, a communication tool for patients who have suffered strokes and other traumatic brain injuries that uses eye-tracking technology.
