Marla Lino is Operations Director of Fronteras Unidas Pro Salud, A.C., (Pro Salud), a non-profit organization that provides medical and educational services in holistic, sexual and reproductive health in Baja California, México.
Lino has a degree in Clinical Psychology and diplomas in Family Violence, Sex Education, Gender and Public Policy. She teaches human sexuality, gender violence, and sexual diversity in schools and universities in the city of Tijuana.
Lino boasts vast experience in working with women and youth in activities that encourage them to develop their skills and potential. She promotes dialogue that guides women and youth to identify their needs, the acquisition of skills and gender-oriented alternatives for change.
She was co-chair of the Binational HIV-AIDS Committee and ITS San Diego-Tijuana. She is now president-elect of the Psychology Association of Baja California.
Her main interest is to work toward the prevention of social problems and thus contribute to the holistic development of women, men and youth in Tijuana. She has been widely praised for her 15 years of work with Pro Salud.
