Gloria Ortega has always been immersed in technology and the value it generates to the user. She was the first person to install an ATM machine in Paraguay, to pay the first salary through ATMs, to install the first broadband service in Paraguay and the first person to be certified in the SOX standard (Sarbanex Oxley). She has lead the implementation of new technologies to automatize processes and has launched innovative products to transform companies.
Gloria is the first female Industrial Engineer of Paraguay, graduated from Universidad Nacional de Asuncion, with experience in the Telecommunications, Supply Chain, Credit Cards, Internet and Information Technology industries. She was General and Regional Manager of six Millicom International subsidiaries in Latin America and Africa from where she lead substantial, commercial and financial improvements of the company’s operations. Gloria led multi-national large-scale projects in multi-cultural environments, supporting more than 55 Paraguayans to carry out a successful career outside Paraguay with high commercial and financial success. Gloria is a senior consultant for the SIPAIL project, a labor insertion system, of the Ministry of Labor, together with the IDB. Gloria currently leads the transformation process to achieve greater inclusion, adoption and financial formalization in Paraguay from Bancard SA.
